Third-party software and scripts

Javier Gonzalez has made an extension for ArcView 3.2 to export a polyline theme to a WAsP *.map ASCII format file, which results in smaller file sizes compared to *.dxf ASCII files. The script can also export a polygon theme to a WAsP *.obs obstacle theme.

Word explanation

Vector map format: Map consisting of height contour curves and boundary curves indicating a change in terrain roughness from one area to another.

Raster or grid map: A map consisting of a list of elevation values, one value for each point in a regular grid; and correspondingly the terrain roughness.
