Risoe has implemented the noise prediction model developed by Brooks, Pope and Marcolini at NASA and the model is also a part of the HAWTOPT rotor design program and in this way it is possible e.g. to design a rotor with constraints on noise

VELUX Open Jet Facility

The Velux wind tunnel has a cross section of 7.5 x 7.5m and a length of 10.5m. The cross section of the jet blowing into the test section is 3.4 x 3.4m. The maximum flow velocity is 40m/s and the turbulence intensity at the test section inlet is 1%

Wind simulation complex for aeroelastic simulations

The Aeroelastic Design Unit, together with The Meteorology Unit, are currently developing a wind simulation package aiming at supplying wind turbine designers with a tool for generation of synthetic wind fields for aeroelastic design computations.
