WAsP – the Wind Atlas Analysis and Application Program |
[02.12.05] WAsP 8.3 released
WAsP 8.03.0015 is the latest version of the WAsP program; read about
the changes, additions and new features
here.
You may download the new version from the WAsP
download page.
[01.12.05] WAsP 7/8
coexistence note available
WAsP 7 and WASP 8 may be installed on the same computer. The note explains the
few conditions to be fulfilled when performing the installations.
[26.10.05] WAsP help file updated
You can download a slightly updated WAsP help facility file (*.chm) from
this page. The WebHelp interface has also
been updated, there's a link on this page.
[18.10.05] Updated utility script uploaded
The script "Custom resource grid export (omni-directional data).was" has been
updated: the RIX values were written out as a fraction; this has now been
changed to per cent.
[17.10.05] Version 2 of the SRTM data set released
Version 2 (the 'finished' data set) of the SRTM 3 arc-second elevation data set have recently
become available for all land areas between 57°S and 60°N.
In addition, the data set now contains a detailed land-sea mask: the SRTM Water
Body Data set.
[02.10.05] New installation files for WAsP 8.2
and WAsP Engineering 2.0
New installation files, for WAsP 8.02.0016 and WEng 2.00.0064, have been uploaded.
These installations
fix some annoying licencing and dongle problems; otherwise the software is
practically identical to the previously released installation files. Users who
are having problems with the dongle drivers should upgrade to these releases.
[24.09.05] Updated MS Word scripts
uploaded
All but one of the previously distributed MS Word report scripts contain a hard
wired path for the DOT file. These updated scripts fix that.
[07.09.05] New installation file for WAsP Engineering 2.0
A new installation file, WAsP Engineering 2.00.0064, has been uploaded. This
installation fixes a few bugs in the turbulence simulation and installation
procedure; otherwise the software is practically identical to the previously
released 2.0 installation file.
[02.09.05] New installation file for WAsP 8.2
A new installation file, WAsP 8.02.0016, has been uploaded. This installation
fixes some annoying licencing and dongle problems; otherwise the software is
practically identical to the previously released 8.2 installation file.
[15.08.05] New installation file for WAsP 8.2
A new installation file for WAsP 8.02.0012 has been uploaded. This installation
fixes a problem experienced by users running Windows Me and NT4; otherwise the
software is identical to the previously released installation file. The update
(patch) file can only be used with Windows 2000 and XP.
[04.08.05] New version of the Geo-Projection
Transformer released
The Geo-Projection Transformer program can now transform the coordinates of
points given in an *.xyz file.
[21.07.05] WAsP 8.2 released
WAsP 8.02.0012 is the latest version of the WAsP program; read about
the changes, additions and new features here.
You may download the new version from the WAsP
download page.
[19.07.05] WAsP Engineering 2.0 released
WAsP Engineering 2.0 introduces several new features and corrects several
problems. It's a "must-have" upgrade to version 1.x.
The most significant enhancements are mentioned in the
WAsP Engineering 2.0 release notes.
[11.07.05] New and updated scripts
uploaded
An updated utility script, Turbine site vertical profile.was, as well as a new
reporting script, Detailed wind atlas report (HTML).was, have been uploaded.
[05.07.05] Updated version of the LIB Interpolator LT
uploaded
A new version of the LIB Interpolator LT program – which estimates an artificial
WASP wind atlas data set by spatial interpolation between three existing,
geo-referenced wind atlas data sets – have been uploaded. Basic functionality
and calculational procedures have not been changed; this is merely an
'administrative' update.
[09.05.05] Update 'B' to the WAsP
Utility Programs uploaded
Updates to the programs UTM.exe, LIB2TXT.exe and TAB2DAT.exe, as well as the
document Installation.pdf, have been uploaded on the WAsP Utility Programs
download page. This is a cumulative update, so update 'A' is now obsolete.
[25.04.05] New utility script uploaded
The purpose of this script is
to do all the calculations in an open WAsP workspace, i.e. recalculate each and
every project.
[08.03.05] Using SRTM data with WAsP
Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) elevation data have recently
become available for all land areas between 57°S and 60°N.
These data can be used to establish height contour maps for the WAsP flow model,
though some editing may still be required. However, the time needed for
establishing maps for WAsP can be reduced significantly.
[04.03.05] Updated version of the
LIB Interpolator LT released
A new version of the LIB Interpolator LT program – which estimates an artificial
WASP wind atlas data set by spatial interpolation between three existing,
geo-referenced wind atlas data sets – have been uploaded.
[03.03.05] New Geo-Projection
Transformer released
The purpose of the Geo-Projection Transformer program is to transform site
location coordinates from one map projection to another. The program can
transform a single point or a list of points (up to 100 in the present version)
and about 150 different datums are available. This is a W98/Me/NT4/2000/XP
utility program.
[25.02.05] New version of LIB
Interpolator LT released
The WAsP Utility Programs are in the process of being updated.
A new version of the LIB Interpolator LT program – which estimates an artificial
WASP wind atlas data set by spatial interpolation between three existing,
geo-referenced wind atlas data sets – have been uploaded.
