USGS coastline files

Files in this format may be imported by the WAsP Map Editor. The files contain coast line information in Lat-Lon coordinate system (degrees North and East), from anywhere on the globe, and may be obtained from the US Geological Survey on the following web address:

http://rimmer.ngdc.noaa.gov/coast/

The wanted area is specified in decimal degrees and the MapGen format is selected in order that the coastline file may be imported by the WAsP map editor.

The format is described by the following example; as indicated, the Map Editor will accept a leading information line added to the downloaded file by the user; if added this line must start with an asterisk (*):
