Software and other products

WAsP is sold as a single-user licence which is valid for only one computer at a time.

When buying WAsP, the user receives (a) a hardware dongle and (b) a set of licence data (user name, unlock code) matching the hardware dongle. The WAsP licence is only valid for a computer on which both the licence data and the hardware dongle is installed. In order to use WAsP by more than one person simultaneously in a company, one or more extra licences should be purchased. Additional licences for the same company may be obtained at a reduced "WAsP additional copy" price.

WAsP may be used on a different computer from the one where it was originally installed by (1) installing the software and licence on that other computer and (2) moving the dongle to that other computer.

In case the licence data (matching the dongle) are lost, it may be re-obtained by addressing wasplicence@risoe.dk giving a) WAsP licence number; b) user and company name; and c) the serial number of the dongle.

Lost dongles are not replaced; a new WAsP licence (at "WAsP additional copy" price) must be purchased to get a new dongle.

Payment terms

We require pre-payment. When we have received your signed order, we will send you an invoice. All our prices include freight (courier) and handling. You may pay by

• Credit card: Visa, MasterCard or EuroCard (fastest way), or by

• Bank transfer or cheque (fax a copy of bank transfer details for fast delivery)

Shipment of the product will be performed as soon as possible after payment has been registered.

To customers residing outside Europe

Please be aware, that the tax authorities / customs in your country may charge duty on goods (e.g. the software you order) at the point of import.

This is a charge levied by your national authorities, not by Risø DTU and Risø DTU have no control over it.

It is not the responsibility of Risø DTU to charge, collect or relieve you of such duty. If you are in doubt about the import regulations in your country or require further information on this issue, we kindly suggest you contact the tax authorities in your country directly prior to ordering from Risø DTU.

WAsP support – policy and pricing

Puchase of WAsP includes a subscription for technical support and program updates for one year. Prolongation of this support subscription may be purchased separately for one year at a time.

What is normal program support and what is considered actual consultancy work? This is defined in the following.

WAsP support issues

Involve work directly related to operating the WAsP software, such as:

• Setting up the hierarchy
• Importing maps
• Using the observed wind climate wizard

As a rule-of-thumb work is limited to about 15 minutes on such issues. In addition to that (and not time limited):

• Program bugs

Project-related issues

Problems related to special conditions regarding terrain, wind climate etc., specific for the project in question. This will not fall under the WAsP support agreement but will be seen as consultancy work. If you require consultancy services, please contact us for an offer. Consultancy work will be charged at standard hourly Risø DTU rate.

Courses and certification exams

Participation is under the condition that payment has been received. For cancellations received up to one month before the course or exam starts, respectively, we charge 10% of the participation fee. For cancellations received between one month and two weeks before the course or exam starts, respectively, we charge 50% of the participation fee. For cancellations received later than that, we charge the full participation fee.
