[February 2006] Updates to WAsP 8.3 and WEng 2.0 have been released. The WAsP 8.3 update mainly addresses some minor problems with the installation of the dongle drivers. The new versions are available from the WAsP download page.
[January 2006] By the end of 2005 there were more than 1,600 registered users of WAsP – consulting engineers, wind turbine manufacturers, universities, research institutions and government agencies – in over 100 countries and territories around the world. In addition, the separate WAsP Engineering software package is now used by more than 100 users for estimation of extreme winds, wind shear and wind profiles, and turbulence.
[December 2005] WAsP 8.3 has been made available recently. The new version is available from the WAsP download page.
[November 2005] Support for Windows NT 4.x, Windows 98 and Windows ME will end on 31 December 2005. This means that WAsP versions released after this date will not be tested and supported on these platforms. Existing users and users acquiring WAsP before 31 December 2005 may of course obtain technical support within the first year of purchase of WAsP, regardless of operating system.
[October 2005] After the recent certification examination in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, there are now more than 50 certified WAsP users in nine different countries – in in Europe, the United States, Canada and India.
[September 2005] Version 2 of the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) elevation data have recently
become available for all land areas between 57°S and 60°N.
These data can be used to establish height contour maps for the WAsP flow model.
In addition, the data set now contains a detailed land-sea mask.

[August 2005] WAsP 8.2 and WAsP Engineering 2.0 have been made available recently. The new versions are available from the WAsP download page. A few updated Utility Programs have further been uploaded on the Utility Programs download page, and a couple of new WAsP scripts are available from the scripts download page.
[July 2005] The next regular three-day WAsP course is planned to take place in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, from 4-6 October. View the programme and read more here. In continuation of the course there will be a WAsP Certification examination on 7 October at the same venue.

[March 2005] Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) elevation data have

flow model, though some editing may still be required. However, the time needed
for establishing maps for WAsP can be reduced significantly.

[February 2005] The first international workshop for experienced WAsP users was held January 24-25 at Risø, see the final program here. Twenty participants from 9 countries attended the workshop. The mixture of WAsP team presentations on various 'hot topics' in combination with case studies presented and discussed by the participants was highly successful – and the participants unanimously recommended that a similar workshop should be held again in about a years time.
