WAsP – the Wind Atlas Analysis and Application Program |
The purpose of the Geo-Projection Transformer program is to transform site location coordinates from one map projection to another. Prior to the transformation you must specify the input and output projections by selecting these projections in the appropriate windows. The program can transform a single point, a list of points in a data grid (up to 100 in the present version) or a list of points in an *.xyz file. The installation *.zip file contains the following files:
| File name | Ext | Description |
| ProjectionTransformerPr | exe | The Geo-Projection Transformer executable program, version 3.0.0.12 |
| MapProjectionTransformerHelp | chm | Help file for the Geo-Projection Transformer program |
| MapProjectionHelp | chm | Help file regarding map projections in general |
| GeoProjectionDatabase5 | zip | Map projections and datums database |
Installation of the program consists of extracting the files to
a suitable folder. Some of
the files are in fact identical to the corresponding ones used by the WAsP Map
Editor. However, to avoid any version mismatch, you may install the
projection transformer into a folder different from ...\WAsP\BIN\, e.g.
C:\Program files\WAsP\Utility, and then make a
shortcut to the executable file ProjectionTransformerPr.exe.
Please notice that the Projection Transformer requires at least one of the WAsP
applications - e.g. the WAsP Map Editor 9 - to be installed, but not necessarily
licenced (i.e with an unlock code installed).
