WAsP – the Wind Atlas Analysis and Application Program |
With the unlicenced demo version you may open, view, copy and print the different kinds of information and files used by WAsP, e.g.
You can then get a "hands-on" feeling of how to work with WAsP, or you may use the program as a 'WAsP Reader' to inspect existing WAsP workspaces and projects. Making calculations, however, requires a licenced copy of WAsP.
The demo version is identical to the regular WAsP software in unlicenced mode, and may be downloaded from the download page.
With the Turbine Editor you may create and edit wind turbine generator power curve files that comply with WAsP power curve formats. In the absence of a WAsP 8/9 installation and a valid WAsP licence, the turbine editor only supports the old *.pow and *.trb file formats. The new WAsP *.wtg format (XML-based format) requires WAsP 8 or 9 to be installed with a valid licence.
The Turbine Editor lets you modify an existing turbine power curve file or create a new one from scratch. Copy-and-paste editing may be used to enter power- and thrust-curve data from tables in a spreadsheet or documents (e.g. from Excel or Word).
The Turbine editor may be downloaded from the power curves download page.
